We’re back. As much as I would like to blame a bevy of circumstances regarding our absence (pledging, facebook royally fucking us, celebrating Osama’s death), the bottom line is we’ve been pretty fucking lazy. In our defense, all those situations definitely factored into the lack of posts, but all in all, our bad. Now, let’s talk music.
I don’t know what it’s been recently, the anticipation for EDC, the fact that summer is right around the corner, his laptop being stolen, or the fact that he’s simply a fucking monster, but it seems Skrillex could take a shit, wrap it in tin-foil, and it would be considered gold. Every track that he has either dropped or been leaked has not failed to impress. It’s actually done more than that. It’s fucking blown my mind. This past week I’ve been staying up watching videos of Skrillex live as he absolutely decimates the minds of the sea of thousands before him. Say what you want about the man, but fuck does he make some good music.
I just heard this song today and to me, it’s prototypical Skrillex. Most artists have a distinct noise that they some how mix into every track, but Skrillex is so talented he’s all over the place with his songs. One moment you’ll be listening to a filthy, bass-filled track, and the next thing you know you’re listening to an up-beat track like this one, only for it to slap you across the face with a surprise flurry of womps. Enough rambling. Enjoy.

i don’t know about the rest of you kids at colleges around the nation that run on the quarter system, but i’m fucking over winter quarter. i think i can speak for myself and both of my fellow bloggers that we have been up to the neck in shit to do for school, in terms of papers and midterms and/or finals. we’re sorry that we have neglected our followers and this blog, but seeing how i just finished my toughest final for the quarter and it’s st patty’s day, i’m going to break the fast.

STRAIGHT STONER MUSIC. this 16 track mixtape is something you throw on in your fraternity house or your college dorms when you’re basted as shit at three in the afternoon. however, there’s two upbeat songs, including Donald Trump (first single to be released off the mixtape) and All Around The World.
the song posted above Around The World. not a bad track, but there is something i have to address about it. mac miller sampled MSTRKRFT’s Heartbreaker. i know a lot of people that like rap and hip hop that knock on EDM, saying that it’s not real music and it’s not hard to produce. don’t knock EDM when your favorite white boy rapper out of pittsburg is sampling the beats from a canadian electronic duo. just my two cents.

First off, if you have a facebook, like our page. I don’t know if I’m just technologically challenged but contacting an actual facebook representative is close to impossible, so fuck it. Who know creating a website for a user friendly website would be so not user friendly.
No banger today, just some real fuckin’ music. This kid, Tyler the Creator, and honorary member of Odd Future, is absolutely raw. He produces his own beats, writes his own lyrics, and has a flow that is on point. Let me warn you though Odd Future rhymes about some dark shit. Just watch this video and you’ll understand what I mean. They’ve been blowing up recently though, especially after they featured on the Jimmy Fallon show. Yonkers got a million hits on youtube within a few days. I was at a 12th Planet show and he closed with this song. Yeah, this song, at a dubstep show. It’s not just hip-hop, it’s good music.

Leave it to Skrillex to find the most obscure songs on the planet and make something of them. not going to be posting a house banger like i usually do. today i have mac miller’s highly anticipated new single off his upcoming mix tape “best day ever”. he premiered this in pomona just last month and threw it down at the slims in SF not long after. this track is pretty good, i think he did a great job on the beat but i personally think that the sample is a little soft. regardless good tune and it might be in my top 3 favorite tracks from the man out of pittsburgh. have a good hump day.

This Thursday, February 10th. Yes, the moment I saw this on facebook I called most of my friends (most who had just found out themselves). Yes, we were all fucking stoked and bought our tickets immediately. Yes, we were ready to rage. No, I will not be attending. Due to prior obligations I will not be able to attend this bass-filled, bone-rattling, ear-popping event. And I am absolutely crushed, but hey, there will be other opportunities to see Dada Life.
But this post isn’t about me. It actually isn’t even about Dada Life. We all know what Dada Life has to offer, they’ve practically become a household name in the electro/house scene. We all know that those Swedes can fucking throw down. We all know about the bananas and champagne. Who most people don’t know though would be Pance Party.
Brick Tamland: Excuse me, Veronica?
Veronica Corningstone: Yes? What is it, Brick?
Brick Tamland: I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.
Veronica Corningstone: Excuse me?
Brick Tamland: [struggling] The… party. With the… with the pants. Party with pants?

I couldn’t have put it any better myself. Although over shadowed by the popular slappers Dada Life has to offer, people are going to be pleasantly surprised by what Pance Party has to offer. These guys produce straight bangers, each beat is ear explosion upon ear explosion. So when I saw that THESE guys were opening for DADA LIFE, it was game over. But sometimes things just don’t work out the way you would like them to. Will I get another opportunity to see these artists again? Probably. Will I get to see both of these artists the same night for 20 dollars? Probably not. But if anyone has the opportunity to check this show out, I strongly recommend getting your ass to Ruby Skye and waiting in line for a ticket, because it will definitely not disappoint.
